REGISTRATION IS OPEN!
What happens when you combine the skills and strategies of curling and table-top role playing games? The Rocket City Curling Club is about to find out. Introducing DragonSpiel 2023!
In this one-day funspiel, you’ll decide whether to curl as a Wizard, Cleric, Fighter or Rogue, and you’ll receive a limited number of spells or abilities to use during your matches. But choose wisely! You’ll only get to teleport that stone once!
$240 registration fee
Limited to 20 TEAMS
All meals provided
One-shot TTRPG’s to play between draws
And it really is about the curling... no RPG experience needed!
All games will be played at the Huntsville Ice Sports Center, located at 3185 Leeman Ferry Rd, Huntsville, AL 35801.
HOW IT WORKS
Each team will receive four decks of cards, one each for Wizards, Clerics, Fighters and Rogues. Each deck will have three cards with a different spell or ability.
You'll assign one deck to each of your teammates, and they'll use those spells while curling. But you can only use one spell or ability per game, so use them wisely. We'll send you the spell / ability list before the event so you can strategize. All teams will receive the same card decks.
Cosplay? If you're feeling it... absolutely! Although try to avoid feathers and other materials that could fall on the ice.
Between draws, we'll feed you, you can buy drinks, and we'll have some DM's to run some quick one-shot D&D games. Or play some crokinole. Or just chill.
7:30 PM - Meet and greet at InnerSpace Brewing. One of our sponsors and favorite places to hang out, and possibly the best pizza in Huntsville. They have tons of board games to play, or bring your own!
8:00 AM - Pool A first draw
10:00 AM - Pool B first draw
Noon - Pool A second draw
2:00 PM - Pool B second draw
